OK, sounds like you have thought this through.
Might be good to find a surfboard leash to use for your tether between the board and the sailor.
With some sort of pad on the deck, the IDO probably will do no damage!
I hope your GF turns out to like windsurfing. Having a "shared sport" is certainly good for a
relaitonship!
