recommend used high wind wave blaster

I pretty much sail slalom only but looking to buy a cheap/used wave board for high wind harbour sailing, not in waves. Conditions that are too rough for slalom.

I’m 82kg and want something that will work with 4.5 to 5.5m. For sale locally is a 2009 80L Evo wood or 2006 fanatic freewave 78L. Would either of these boards be good highwind b&j options for me? Is the Evo better suited to waves? thanks

Generally, a wave board with a few liters below your body weight is good for high wind.

I use a 83L waveboard for my 87kg with sails 4.0,4.7, 5.5.

Can't say anything about the Evo.

Try to get Your hands on a Starboard Acid 80 liters 2006 model. You can still find that boards in the stores. I did (Sweden). Its a real waveboard, but very, very rapid.
I think it can handle saels up to 5,8, but 5,5 as upper limit is better.

For hardcore freeriding, look for something like an Acid or Pure Acid 80, or a Kode 80.

The Evo is a dedicated wave board, great for B&J but not as good as a Kode for going pretty fast.

Agree with the acid reccomendation . i do not own one, but while on vacation in maui in 2008 had the opportunity while renting to try many different boards, some of them a few years old so the aicd i used was about a 2006. I am 82 KGs and it was during 4.2 conditions when I was sailing.
Tried naish global waves, smaller jp freestyle waves, and small kombats , but the acid was the easiest , fastest and most forgiving to sail on the inside in the waves and on the big swell outside the uppers.
Now I am not a dyed in the wool wave sailor , and i sail chop small waves at home, but if it blew that much at home the acid of 2006 or so would be my choice.
Not suprised seeing that it was buy far the most narrow and old style board .

If you can get your hands on an old sonic 85 I would highly recommend it. Insane board that handles a ton of torture. The batch of timber ply used in the 2006 boards was definitely a strong batch, possibly peeled from trees that grew up in an insanely windy and cold area.
