Hey Noah! I do summer races and also wave competitions. I was 8 when I first jumped on a S type.

just got my new board . I ordered the flare but they sent me the evo so thats ok anyway

here is a nother tip for jumping
push with your back foot in the water en pull your front feet en than pull your back feet do it a nice chop and hit it a little upwind .
on curacao we have a lot of chops but we jump more when a boot passing buy with a big ghop
