X-15 Foilboards
The X-15 is built for one purpose—pure speed. This latest evolution pushes aerodynamics and efficiency to the extreme, delivering unmatched performance from minimum to full-power conditions. Designed for low-drag, high-speed foils, the X-15 enhances early takeoff, stability, and precision, allowing riders to accelerate faster and fly with absolute control. When every fraction of a second matters, the X-15 leads the charge.

X-15 Foilboards FAQs
What is the X-15 Foilboard designed for?
The X-15 Foilboard was designed for the X-15 Class, World Sailing's one-design wingfoil racing class. It was developed with performance, stability, durability and early take off in mind. This performance driven shape is stable while on water, takes off early due to it’s long waterline and slender outline. The aerodynamic tail shape aids stability in high winds and the special V nose works wonders during high speed touch downs. The Carbon TT box ensure complete foil to foot stiffness, multiple strap positions to suit any stance option. The overall construction is extra strong, reinforcements in impact areas and a full wood standing area.
X-15 vs Ace — race vs freeride foiling
- Riding style: the X-15 is for dedicated racing; the Ace is for freeride, downwind and crossover.
- Shape: the X-15 is narrow and highly optimised; the Ace is longer, narrower and stable.
- Take-off: the X-15 is fast but technical; the Ace is easy and smooth.
- Speed: the X-15 is very high; the Ace is moderate to fast.
Stability: the X-15 is lower, being performance-focused; the Ace is high. - Skill level: the X-15 suits advanced and race riders; the Ace suits intermediate to advanced.
- Feel: the X-15 is precise and fast; the Ace is flowy and forgiving.
What rider level do you need for the X-15 Foilboard?

Why did Starboard develop the X-15?
Starboard developed the X-15 Class to provide a standardized, and the first one design design class approved by World Sailing. One design means everyone is racing on the same equipment that ensures wingfoil racing remains fair, accessible, and decided solely by the athlete's skill rather than their equipment budget. One design puts the power back in the rider's hands—making wingfoil racing faster, fairer, and more thrilling than ever before.
