We’re beyond stoked to officially welcome Rafferty Read to the Starboard Wing & Foil Dream Team.
Growing up in Oxford, Rafferty discovered windsurfing at Farmoor Reservoir at just 10 years old. Since then, his passion for wind-powered watersports has evolved into a career as a professional wingfoiler, presenter, commentator and one of the UK’s leading ambassadors for the sport.
On the water, Rafferty has built an impressive racing résumé. His career highlights include becoming 3x UK Wingfoil Speed Champion, UK Youth Windsurf Slalom Champion, 3rd overall at the Defi Triple Crown, 7th at Defi Wing amongst more than 700 riders, 2nd at the POS Speed World Championship Grand Prix, and earning multiple top 10 world rankings in wingfoil racing.
Beyond racing, Rafferty is passionate about growing the sport. Whether he’s coaching riders, presenting and commentating at international events, or building communities through initiatives like the HOLY MOLY League, he’s dedicated to making foiling more accessible and creating unforgettable experiences on the water.

Having spent much of his journey connected to the Starboard family, joining the Dream Team feels like a natural next step. Alongside competing on the international stage, Rafferty is looking forward to contributing to the development of the next generation of Starboard equipment, travelling the world with the team, and helping push wingfoil racing to new heights both on and off the water.
