Got a puncture or small rip in your inflatable paddleboard? Here is a step-by-step video to explain how to repair an inflatable paddle board puncture.
You will need:
1. Hair Dryer2. Glue and PVC patches from the repair kit
3. Tape
4. Brush or spatula
5. Acetone
6. A cloth
7. Gloves and mask
Follow these easy steps to repair your iSUP:
1. Clean the area around the puncture with acetone
2. Dry the area carefully afterwards
3. Cut patch to approximate size to use for preparing the puncture
4. Place the patch over the puncture
5. Draw the outline of the patch using a pencil
6. Apply tape to the outline of the puncture
7. Apply glue on both board and patch
8. Using the brush or spatula, make sure the glue is spread evenly
9. Leave the glue to dry for 5 – 10 minutes
10. If the glue doesn’t stick to your glove it means it’s ready to bond
11. Place the patch on top of the puncture area
12. Use the hairdryer to gently heat the area to ensure the best bonding
13. Use the spatula to firmly press the patch removing any air bubbles that maybe there – this ensures a strong bond
14. It is recommended to put some extra weight on top of it
15. Remove the tape
16. Allow 24 hours for the glue to dry and bond properly before inflating again
