The 2026 Tenerife World Cup delivered a huge week for the Starboard Dream Team, with Sarah-Quita Offringa claiming victory in the Pro Women, Lennart Neubauer producing a breakthrough performance to finish fourth in the Pro Men, and Ryu Noguchi taking fourth in the Pro Junior Boys.

El Médano showed its full potential for the decisive days of competition, delivering powerful waves and winds reaching 30–45 knots. In demanding conditions that tested every part of the riders' wave sailing, the Starboard team delivered performances to remember.

Sarah-Quita Offringa – Back-to-Back Tenerife Wins

Another event, another victory for Sarah-Quita Offringa. After winning in Tenerife in 2025, Sarah-Quita returned to El Médano and once again showed why she remains one of the most complete windsurfers in the world.

Sarah-Quita advanced directly from the seeding round into the semi-finals, where she faced an incredibly strong fleet. In her semi-final, she battled with Lina Erpenstein for the lead, combining clean jumping with strong wave riding to secure her place in the final.

With the wind continuing to build and the rising tide making the ramps increasingly difficult to read, the final became a tactical battle between Sarah-Quita, Lina Erpenstein, Alexia Kiefer Quintana and Justyna Sniady. As the lead changed throughout the heat, Sarah-Quita remained composed and steadily built her scores. In the closing stages, a beautifully tweaked push loop gave her the upgrade she needed to move ahead of her rivals and secure the victory.

The result makes it back-to-back Tenerife World Cup wins for Sarah-Quita. Another outstanding performance from the Queen of Windsurfing.

Lennart Neubauer – A Huge Breakthrough in the Waves

If there was one result that caught everyone by surprise in Tenerife, it was Lennart Neubauer's incredible run through the Pro Men's Wave competition. Fresh from winning the Freestyle World Cup in Fuerteventura, Lennart arrived in Tenerife primarily known for his freestyle abilities. His talent in that discipline is already well established, but this week he showed that he can be a serious threat in the waves too.

And he made that clear right from the beginning. In the seeding round, Lennart caused one of the first major upsets by taking down experienced wave sailors Morgan Noireaux and Dieter Van der Eyken, securing direct passage into the quarterfinals.

But he wasn't finished there. As the competition progressed, Lennart continued to build confidence. Huge push forwards, clean double forwards and increasingly committed wave riding allowed him to keep advancing through a draw packed with some of the best wave sailors in the world.

He then made it through the semifinals to achieve something he had never done before – qualify for a PWA Wave World Cup final. Suddenly, one of the world's best freestyle windsurfers was fighting for a Wave World Cup podium alongside Marc Paré, Philip Köster and Marino Gil.

Lennart eventually finished fourth in the Pro Men's division. Fourth place may have left him just outside the podium, but the result represents something much bigger – a genuine breakthrough in Lennart's development as an all-round windsurfer.

From winning the Fuerteventura Freestyle World Cup just weeks earlier to making his first PWA Wave final in Tenerife, Lennart continues to push the limits of what he can do on a windsurf board.

Ryu Noguchi Takes Fourth in Pro Junior Boys

The next generation of the Starboard Dream Team was also making its mark in Tenerife, with Ryu Noguchi finishing fourth in the Pro Junior Boys. Ryu reached the final alongside Carlos Kiefer Quintana, Anton Richter and Gregory Stathopoulos, with the young riders battling in classic El Médano conditions.

While the jumping ultimately proved decisive in the fight for the podium, Ryu showed his strength where he feels most at home – on the wave. The Japanese young talent produced the best wave scores of the entire final, demonstrating once again his progressive and stylish approach to wave riding.

Without the jumping scores needed to challenge the leaders, Ryu eventually had to settle for fourth place, narrowly missing the podium. Another strong result and valuable experience for one of Starboard's most exciting young wave talents.

A Week to Remember in Tenerife

From another victory for one of the sport's greatest competitors to a completely unexpected breakthrough in the men's fleet and another strong performance from the next generation, Tenerife delivered plenty to celebrate for the Starboard Dream Team.

Sarah-Quita Offringa leaves Tenerife with back-to-back World Cup victories. Lennart Neubauer leaves with his first-ever PWA Wave final and fourth place overall. And Ryu Noguchi adds another Pro Junior top-four result to his growing list of achievements.

Three very different performances, but all showing the same thing – the level keeps moving forward.
