In a thrilling season finale at the 2025 PWA Foil Slalom World Cup in Yokosuka, Matteo Iachino delivered a masterclass in consistency and nerves, earning his third world title in Foil Slalom.

Men's Fleet
Matteo worked incredibly hard for this moment, and it clearly paid off. Racing on the Starboard X-15 85, he stayed focused all season and showed the steady, reliable performance he’s known for. This new title is another big milestone in his career, adding to his world titles from 2016 and 2023, as well as his 2024 Speed Windfoil World Championship.
Matteo Iachino about his win and the 2025 season:
“It’s been an amazing year, and I worked really a lot. I feel like I worked even more for this title than for the other two I got in the PWA previously. But in the end, it’s hard to say, it's always hard work to achieve something like this.
It was a tough year. It was sick to get Vice World Champion on fin and to win on foil. As I said, a lot of work behind it, but also many emotions and an amazing day when I clinched it. Throughout the foil season, I used the X-15 85, which was the board I chose for the season.
It worked great in high winds, medium winds, and light winds; it’s an amazing board, really easy overall. I used all the sails basically, from an overpowered 6.0 to an underpowered 9.0 across all the events we had. And with all the foil setups we could use, from the smallest to the most powerful ones.
It’s been a great season and a really good achievement. It’s my third PWA title with Starboard over 10 years. Six times Vice World Champion, so I think it’s a great collaboration, and it’s been a great year.”

In the Men's Fleet, a notable performance came from Fabian Wolf, who finished 5th in the final event, marking one of his strongest PWA World Tour results.
Women's Fleet
On the women’s side, Lina Eržen claimed third place overall in the Foil Slalom rankings, firmly establishing herself among the world’s elite. Meanwhile, Femke van der Veen had a solid season too — she wrapped up in third place in the 2025 world rankings.

Lina about her final result:
"Happy and proud of my performance this week. With only two events everything was super tight. Managed to secure 3rd for this year with my X-15 85 Foil slalom board!"
