Sarah‑Quita Offringa came agonizingly close to clinching victory at the Gran Canaria Gloria Windsurf World Cup in Pozo Izquierdo, but ultimately had to settle for a hard‑fought second place. After delivering the day’s highest-scoring heat—an impressive 23 points—she led the Super Final until the very last seconds. However, Daida Moreno answered with a clutch backside and frontside air, snatching the win by a razor-thin margin. Though it stings to fall short at the Queen of Pozo’s home waters, the 25‑time world champion earned her best result of the season, laying a solid foundation as she chases another Wave World Title.

Sarah-Quita about her performace in Pozo:
"I think Pozo 2025 was an awesome event for me. I was delighted with the boards under my feet. I went back to using the 78 Ultra, as in the past few years I was using the 82. And the 78 was super maneuverable, and it did exactly what I needed to do.
In the single elimination, I started out with a really good heat. And then in the final, I feel like I couldn't really show the same performance as in the beginning. So I was happy with my second place, just a little bit disappointed with my performance in the final.
And somehow between the single and the double, I managed to refocus, reset, and kind of get myself together. So in the double, I'm so extremely happy with my sailing and all three heats that I even managed to force a super final against Daida, which is the first time I could beat her at her home spot in Pozo, which to me really means a lot. And unfortunately, in the super final, I lost by 0.4 points.
But that's, yeah, the whole event, I would say, is still like a victory for me. So it hurts a bit to lose like that. But overall, I think I'm extremely proud of the sailing that I did the last day.
And in the end, the level has gone up really high this year with the girls, with the high level going much deeper in the fleet, and seeing all the young girls stepping up. So I'm happy to be in the mix and right up there with the best."
