SURF FESTIVAL 2026: Testing, Racing and Freestyle Action in Fehmarn

The Surf-festival in Fehmarn, Germany brought together watersports enthusiasts for days filled with equipment testing, racing and community spirit. The Starboard Germany stand was busy from start to finish, with visitors getting hands-on access to the newest Starboard range and the opportunity to test the latest boards directly on the water.

One of the highlights was the presence of Lennart Neubauer at his first Surf Festival appearance. Fans had the chance to meet the freestyle world champion, talk equipment and watch him on the water.

Lennart shared about the Surf-festival:
“It’s super cool to see so many people trying gear, talking windsurfing and just enjoying being on the water together.”

The festival also hosted the Racer of the Sea, where Starboard rider Fabian Wolf claimed the victory, adding another strong result to the weekend.

Freestyle action was also on the schedule with the German Freestyle Battles, although the wind had different plans. Unfortunately, only two heats could be completed due to light conditions, but spectators still got a glimpse of the talent on display.

German Starboard rider Meiky Wieczorek, who spent time at the Starboard booth and took part in the freestyle competition, summed up the atmosphere:
“Even with less wind, the energy was great. Seeing so many people testing equipment, talking windsurfing and supporting the riders made it a really cool event.”

From first tests on new gear to racing wins and freestyle sessions, the Surf Festival once again showed why it remains one of the key gatherings of the German windsurfing community.
